Stars over the City - Downtown Denver

On our last night in Colorado, we realized we hadn't checked one thing off of our list... Some city shots! While Colorado is full of wondrous  natural beauty, the Denver area is full of life and offers a really different lifestyle that the cities and towns in the Great Lakes area.  We were taken to this man-made lake by our friend (who was our host and, our tour guide on weekends) to get a few shots of Denver's skyline.

There's a legend regarding the creation of this lake, which tells the story of farmer Thomas F. Sloan.  Who, while digging a well, accidentally tapped into an aquifer.  The next day when he awoke, a good portion of his farm land was under water.  Having dealt with several floods in my life, I can say with certainty...  That's not a sight I would like to wake up to!
